Learn More about This Dialogue
Why is this dialogue taking place?
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy and the National Collaborative on Workforce and Disability for Youth are hosting this dialogue to engage youth in exercising their voices and sharing their ideas on a topic that affects them. Gathering these perspectives will help policymakers and people who work with youth to better understand what supports youth need to become successful adults.
All youth, including youth with disabilities, need ways to exercise their voice and advocate for what they need to become successful adults. Participating in this dialogue can help to develop awareness of what youth need based on the conversation and ideas that form. It’s also a way for youth to speak on a national scale and show what is important to them.
Who should participate?
This online event is open to the general public and to anyone interested in joining the conversation. Youth between the ages of 13 and 25 may participate. Given the dialogue’s focus, youth with disabilities and their allies are especially encouraged to participate.
This online dialogue will run through May 22, 2016. To begin participating in the online dialogue, return to the dialogue's home page and register to submit ideas and vote and comment on ideas submitted by others.
